Following the success of BOOGALOO BOOGIE in North Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire we are now pleased to be offering the same fun, creative and educational movement-based programme to schools and after school clubs across the country.

How does BOOGALOO BOOGIE work?

Boogaloo Boogie is a dance and movement programme designed to be fun, funky, creative and energetic. It aims to stimulate and inspire children to develop physically, musically and socially within a thoughtfully structured movement framework.

Why does BOOGALOO BOOGIE work?

Boogaloo Boogie is successful because the programme has been developed with specialist knowledge and experience, specifically to be fun, engaging and rewarding for boys and girls equally.

There are no gender barriers for children and class activities are physical and creative, developing movement skills in a way that is accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

Why bring BOOGALOO BOOGIE to schools?

The Boogaloo Boogie programme can be match and link with your centre’s current class topics enriching and enhancing the National Curriculum in a cross curricular sense. Sessions are planned specifically in line with Foundation Stage and KS1 Dance units and PE National Curriculum framework.

Classes run for approximately 30 minutes each, depending on school lunch arrangements or after school availability, with up to 20 children attending, depending on space.

Boogaloo Boogie’ classes are in school hours or the hour after school and are normally held in the school hall or the after school club’s own facility, so that it can be cheaper and more accessible, particularly for children not normally able to access classes outside of school hours due to cost or parental commitments. We also teach the Boogaloo Boogie’ programme as part of the school curriculum for example in PPA time.

All Boogaloo Boogie’ teachers bring with them a wealth of teaching experience in and out of schools and are CRB checked.

How is BOOGALOO BOOGIE facilitated?

We provide all the administration documentation for the Boogaloo Boogie’ course. We issue all confirmation receipts and only ask that the school/club distribute the paperwork to the children in the normal way. Enclosed is a copy of our introduction to Boogaloo Boogie for parents.
